You could say that it’s easy for us to not be expected to do it - that history has written it that way, but that’s not the real story.

The truth is that a public, true display of commitment has not been obtainable due to the law; due to the norm; due to others.

While some gay men even have a distaste for settling down, that’s just their personal view. What they may not understand about my relationship is that the superficial displays of settling in my 25-year-old life - the house, the dog - are really just signs of love for me. I want to be where I’m at in this moment and I want it to last, because I love another so much. We will grow and we will change, and I hope that’s all done together.

Obama’s endorsement of marriage equality comes after an unmeasurable effort by a millenia of human struggle in perseverance of fairness, yet his words are loved and appreciated. He has proven his leadership and taken a stand aside from the presidency to be absolute in his beliefs, and for this, my community and our future will be ever grateful.

At the end, this is all about those lovers who want fairness and don’t want a second rate designation for their love. We’re human, not islands, so let us come together to respect our neighbors as a brilliant nation.

Baby you don’t know what it’s like, to love somebody, to love somebody, the way I love you.

Better Than An Igloo: Affordable, Efficient Homes In One Of The World’s Harshest Environments

Better Than An Igloo: Affordable, Efficient Homes In One Of The World’s Harshest Environments:

“The Living Aleutian Home Design Competition, sponsored by the Aleutian Housing Authority, challenged designers to build cost-effective, practical, replicable homes for Atka, Alaska (a village on the islands) that meets all of the standards of the Living Building Challenge 2.0.—an incredibly rigorous green building certification that requires structures to be net-zero water (meaning they produce as much water as they consume), net-zero energy, sourced from local materials, non-toxic (they don’t use certain red-listed materials), and more. If you can build structures that work in Atka, you can build them for anywhere.” -Ariel Schwartz, Fast Company

Touchy, A Human Camera by Eric Siu
